Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Undergraduate Recruitment, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the Campus Tour Program. The Campus Tour Coordinator is responsible to coordinate the on-campus visitation programs for prospective students, parents, high school groups and other groups. The incumbent works closely with departments to arranges appointments with faculty, visits to class lectures as well as designs visits to meet the specific needs of the student including those with special physical needs. The incumbent also works closely with departments to organize program specific tours or special group tours for school groups and other organizations which include information sessions or hands-on workshops. The Campus Tour Coordinator recruits, selects, trains and evaluates tour guides. The incumbent compiles statistics on tour participants and faculty appointments. The incumbent must have the willingness to work evenings, and most Saturdays.
Qualifications:The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of the University procedures and programs and office procedures.
  • Excellent presentation, writing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing with faculty members, administrative staff, prospective students, parents, guidance counsellors, teachers and the general public.
  • The incumbent must have the ability to work with minimum supervision including working evenings and most Saturdays.
Education and Experience:The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
  • Completion of a university degree
  • Five years of related campus tour, or program coordination experience (including experience hiring, training, and supervising students), at a post-secondary institution. Supervisory skills are required.
