Tourism Regina is looking for a summer student like you to come work with our team welcoming visitors to Regina this summer. Tourism Regina is seeking qualified students to join the summer visitor ambassador team for an 8 week term, providing exceptional customer service for residents and visitors in the promotion of tourism at local attractions, events, and businesses around the destination. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Learn about activities, businesses and services operating in Regina by learning from the team, and self-education using existing marketing materials, internet searches, inquiries, etc.
• Learn the geographic area of Regina, road names, places to eat and sleep, places of interest, etc. to relay this information to visitors and give directions.
• Learn about the various resident and visitor sectors (age, interests, spending habits) to be able to competently match and suggest local products to suit their needs for a more interesting and complete visitor experience.
• Help conduct research about tourism (ex: activities, businesses and services).
• Coordinate tools needed for onsite activation of events happening in the destination, and carry out Tourism Regina ambassador support activities at the event including promotions, contests, visitor information and survey gathering.
• Support the marketing team by creating blogs and itineraries for potential visitors to the destination in niche markets
• Maintain visitor statistics for analysis.
• Working with Tourism Regina\xe2\x80\x99s marketing team, take photos and post to social media for public messaging to residents and visitors.
• Assist in updating tourismregina.com, review existing on-line business listings, identify new businesses, confirm map locations, eliminate outdated listings, etc.
• Assist in filling literature requests and send by mail or courier as required.

WHAT IT TAKES Apply today if you meet the following requirements:

• Completed some Post-secondary education in Business Marketing, Events, Tourism, or related field required, or a combination of previous experience.
• Knowledge of integrated marketing/promotional campaigns with experience leading content and creative execution which aligns with brand standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of marketing and communications principles.
• Has a passion for our city, Regina.
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
• Independent, creative self-starter that is adaptable and welcoming of new ideas.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas when summarizing complex issues.
• Creativity in developing of marketing concepts and strategies.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills including demonstrated experience in writing business documentation.
• Demonstrated proficiency for managing multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.
• Strong time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to details.
• Computer proficiency required including advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, and various marketing platforms (example: Canva).
