Summer Student, Chemical Testing Lab (Casual - 3 months)

InnoTech Alberta has an opportunity for a Summer Student to work within our Chemical Testing team in the Applied Chemistry Services division, based in Vegreville, Alberta.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the incumbent will gain experience in

• The day-to-day operations of an analytical chemistry lab
• The requirements of an ISO17025 accredited Lab Quality Management System
• The preparation of environmental samples to be analyzed the senior technologists.

• Day-to-day operations and support of a laboratory based business

Qualifications and skills we are looking for:

• You are enrolled in a high school Chemistry program, or are enrolled in a chemistry related program at a university in the Fall of 2023.
• Self-starter capable to work independently as well as on a highly integrated team
• Able to problem solve and pay exacting attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated initiative
• Ability to work in a high-performance team environment
• Adaptable and flexible to fast paced and ever-changing environment
• Computer knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Critical thinking ability
