Tourism Development Coordinator \xe2\x80\x93 Summer Student *Must live in Muskoka full time or seasonally* The Tourism Development Coordinator is an up-and-coming marketer with knowledge of the current social media landscape with a passion for content development and writing. They will understand the region of Muskoka and keep the website up to date to entice and inspire travellers to choose Muskoka. They will foster relationships with regional stakeholders and tourism industry leaders to ensure Discover Muskoka is the go-to spot for events, activities, and all special promotions. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Director, you support marketing the region of Muskoka and finding creative ways to move travellers around the region. \xc2\xb7 Keeps a pulse on all events, experiences and activities in Muskoka to ensure website and social media is up to date. \xc2\xb7 Develop and curate engaging content for all social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter, LinkedIn. \xc2\xb7 Engage with comments and questions on social media channels to build Discover Muskoka brand while always driving traffic to members. \xc2\xb7 Monitor website for accuracy and update the information provided by tourism stakeholders to capture the highest level of outbound links. \xc2\xb7 Always keeping an eye on social media trends to identify the latest digital platforms. \xc2\xb7 Create and publish engaging digital content pieces. Ensure all content is accurate and consistent and publish on online/digital platforms. \xc2\xb7 Develop and write stories from our region to share on our social media channels, website, and e-newsletter. \xc2\xb7 Database management on Simpleview CRM Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Experience working in the digital space (website development/maintenance; social media channels, video production/editing, analytics). \xc2\xb7 Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills. \xc2\xb7 Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter \xc2\xb7 Be available to travel to events and locations within the District of Muskoka on occasion. \xc2\xb7 Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license. Who We Are: Muskoka Tourism Marketing Agency (MTMA)? Muskoka Tourism Marketing Agency creates marketing excitement that inspires visitors to choose Muskoka first and often as their destination of choice. MTMA is a not-for-profit membership association funded by both the District of Muskoka and tourism operators. Our agency is overseen by a board of directorsthat represents a broad base of tourism businesses and interests from within Muskoka. Who is eligible? \xc2\xb7 All students must be currently enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 upon commencement of employment . \xc2\xb7 Proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer. \xc2\xb7 Students must be residents of Ontario during the period of employment. \xc2\xb7 Students must be eligible to work in Canada and have a Social Insurance Number (SIN). \xc2\xb7 Students should be living in Ontario at the time they start work. The intention of the program is to provide career-related experience to eligible students that are also eligible to work in Ontario.
