2024 SUMMER HIRING

Tourism Assistant - Summer Student
Economic Development Corporation
4 Month Term approx. May 2, 2024 - September 2, 2024

Applications must be received on or before Friday March 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Railway City Tourism, be responsible for assisting with summer events in both planning and implementation, develop tourism programs, and assist with managing the tourism office.

Major Tasks:

  • Attend events to promote St. Thomas tourism
  • Interact with the public daily regarding tourism related questions and inquiries
  • Assist with the development of tourism programs and events; develop tourism marketing initiatives
  • Update website and social media
  • Assist staff in the day to day operations of the tourism office
Qualifications:
  • Good communication and organization skills and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Some experience with marketing, websites, and social media
  • Experience working with the public
  • Post-Secondary Student is preferred
  • Qualified applicants must have attended the previous school year full time and will be returning to the next school term full time (proof MAY be required).
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a class G2.
The Work Week Includes:
  • Thirty-five hours per week with some weekends and evenings
2024 Remuneration Range: $17.11 - $18.86 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, working a 35 hour workweek.

Please note: Successful hires will be required to attend Corporate Orientation on Thursday May 2, 2024 and start Friday May 3, 2024.
