Ridgeline Games is focused on building rich narrative campaigns with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe. We are building a new studio composed of leaders and talent with a vast array of AAA game dev experience. Role Overview:

You are an experienced VFX artist with deep technical knowledge, who can create beautiful, chaotic, and realistic VFX in games. You will help refine our production techniques, and maintain visual budgets while always being focused on the highest quality content execution. You are an empathetic team member and an excellent communicator, both within your team and when it comes time to present to leadership.

Reporting to the Lead VFX artist, our ideal VFX Artist will have shipped one or more AAA games, and may have worked in the studio or remotely. Knowledge of game engines is a must, as this is a hands-on position, and you will collaborate with your team daily, both in person and through virtual meetings.

Responsibilities
  • An understanding of the VFX process, realistic execution, and beautiful visuals.
  • Experience with industry VFX packages to shatter, simulate, flood, and set fire to in-game geometry in real-time (example: FumeFx, RayFire, Houdini, Maya Fluids, Alembic, Popcorn FX, MASH).
  • You will implement, polish, and refine your work based on feedback, concepts, and direction.
  • You will help refine the best processes and techniques with the VFX team.
  • Maintain production requirements such as stand-ups, feedback, and communication with peers and leadership.
  • Work with the VFX lead and Art Direction to understand and develop VFX to support cinematics, gameplay, and destruction.
  • Have experience with cross-discipline collaboration.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a VFX Artist.
  • A passion for realistic VFX and real-time techniques.
  • Experience with Photogrammetry, PBR shaders, and achieving photorealistic outcomes, compatible with lighting and gameplay.
  • Experience working with and contributing to resource libraries.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
\xc2\xba $77,600 - $119,000 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
