Position Title: Theatre Technologist
Status: Full-time Support
Hours: 40 per week
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Media & Creative Arts
Campus/Location: Lakeshore
Salary: (Min) $33.38 (Max) $38.75 per hour
What you will do:
The Theatre Technologist is responsible for analyzing, engineering, supporting construction and installation of technical elements for FMCA performing arts productions - source materials for set, lights, sound, wardrobe, properties, equipment rentals and special effect
needs. The Theatre Technologist works closely with faculty, students, and technicians to make technical rehearsals work smoothly. It is also the responsibility of the incumbent to establish and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures relevant to work
practices exercised in the field. Working at heights and operating powered elevated platforms is a requirement for the day-to-day operations of the theatre spaces.
This position supports the academic process concerning equipment, machines, tools, and electronic systems as well as the maintenance of equipment and supplies and ensures the functional state/preparation of the shops, labs and equipment as needed. The
incumbent will also provide technical expertise to students.
