We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with experience in serving and presenting sushi and other Japanese dishes. Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling rolls
Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently maintained in all kitchen activities
Assist with meal preparation for various Japanese cuisine offerings beyond sushi as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
Serve dishes promptly while ensuring quality and presentation meet restaurant standards
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service
Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness
Experience
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or food service environment
Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills and ingredient handling
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
Experience with serving customers directly is a plus, emphasizing excellent communication skills
Previous kitchen experience in a fast-paced restaurant setting preferred
Knowledge of meal preparation, cooking methods, and food presentation specific to Japanese cuisine
