Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. Your expertise in food safety and handling will ensure that all dishes are prepared in a clean and safe environment.

Duties

Prepare and create a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation techniques. Provide exceptional service to guests by ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques with a focus on sushi-making. Strong cooking skills with experience in the food service industry. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred, particularly in Japanese cuisine. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management. Passion for the culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality meals.
