Position: Technical Resources Technologist, Qualified (12 Month Term)

Division: Geospatial, Electricity

Reporting to the Supervisor, Network Connectivity, this position performs duties on fully competent level. This position is responsible for providing technical and operational support in the maintenance and delivery of real-time operational mapping for the effective operation of the electrical system. This position will also provide technical and operational mapping support in the validation, maintenance, upgrades, and improvements to the electrical connectivity model and associated integrated operational applications (GIS, OMS, SLD, DSCADA, CYME Gateway, etc.).

What You Get To Do:

  • Updating Network Model with new extension or upgrades to electrical system using Hexagon G/Technology suite of applications.
  • Using external or internal supplied CAD drawings as base for Network Model update.
  • Using external or internal supplied survey data points as base for Network Model update.
  • Ensuring connectivity continuity within G/Technology.
  • Resolving the types of connectivity issues which can impact operability of OMS system prior to GIS/OMS map migration.
  • Analyzing the upstream and downstream traces in the G/Technology to create reports or assist with data inquiry.
  • Following instruction, drawings, sketches, and schematics of the Distribution Construction Standards Manual (DCSM) for modeling data in GIS system.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a post-secondary technology diploma from a recognized Canadian institute of technology.
  • 2-5 years of technical experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • A.S.E.T registration as C.E.T. is preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff interpersonally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on project teams.
  • Ability to work under the pressure of tight timelines.
