Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our dynamic HR Shared Services team. The work of the Talent Acquisition Specialist is integral to Canada\'s Lifeline. In this role, you will provide full-cycle recruitment services and expertise to Hiring Managers and contribute to the team\'s overall success by providing a high level of client service and ensuring priorities are met. Working in adherence to recruitment policies you will source qualified candidates for various locations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and evaluating qualification criteria to identify and create candidate profiles for vacancies.
  • Creating market-focused job postings, standardized interview questions, and administering computerized testing as required.
  • Managing the full-cycle recruitment process; which includes screening/sourcing, interviewing, and conducting reference checks.
  • Researching, recommending, and implementing candidate sourcing strategies.
  • Working closely with external advertising agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure Canadian Blood Services is marketed as an employer of choice.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of comprehensive recruitment programs for the organization by identifying trends and challenges.
  • Contributing to the evaluation and continuous improvement of recruitment practices and policies, and identifying industry best practices.

Desired Education and Skills:
  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution is an asset, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of six years related experience in a recruitment role.
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Proven track record in building positive relationships and creating effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A thorough understanding of HR practices and/or processes as well as related legislative requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Union experience would be an asset.
