Location: North Vancouver, BC or Houston, TX

Reports to: Director, Human Resources

About the Position:

The TA Specialist is an integral part of the Human Resource team to support the business across Canada and the USA. They will bring expertise in the area of talent acquisition and will work with HR and business leaders to develop and implement strategies, systems, tools and programs to maximize the attraction of applicants and staffing outcomes. The TA Specialist will ensure that we maintain a positive experience for applicants through recruitment and onboarding and will ensure that we adopt best practices to source candidates of diverse backgrounds to meet our needs. In addition, this role will drive active recruitment for key positions.

Specific Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Oversee various methods to source candidates across the region including various job boards, social media options, and internal web sites.

\xc2\xb7 Drive active recruitment efforts to source potential candidates.

\xc2\xb7 Leverage relationships with vendors such as LinkedIn and Indeed to drive development of talent acquisition across the region.

\xc2\xb7 Develops candidate branding materials

\xc2\xb7 Manage candidates in talent pipelines for specific or critical roles within the organization, including responsibility for recruitment of corporate and global positions.

\xc2\xb7 Lead development and improvement of the recruitment strategies, tools and processes.

\xc2\xb7 Track recruitment and onboarding activities with regular reporting on metrics, trends, successes, and challenges.

\xc2\xb7 Manage agency use and other vendor relationships related to talent acquisition

\xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations involving employee selection, pre-employment reference and/or background checks that apply to the function.

\xc2\xb7 Lead in the optimization of applicant tracking systems and other systems as applicable.

\xc2\xb7 Facilitate positive and memorable candidate experiences with frequent and timely communications throughout the recruitment process.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee the employee onboarding process and support implementation across the region.

\xc2\xb7 Establish tools for support to full-cycle recruitment efforts including recruitment workflows, interview guides, screening processes, job postings, and large-scale recruitment initiatives.

\xc2\xb7 Administer programs related to recruitment such as employee referrals, wage subsidy, and co-op talent programs.

\xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, communities and resource groups to support recruitment efforts.

\xc2\xb7 Drive continuous improvement efforts for talent acquisition and act as a point of contact to address issues with all aspects of the function.

\xc2\xb7 May assist with other Human Resources projects.

\xc2\xb7 Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

\xc2\xb7 Experience in recruitment requirements and regulations across Canada and the USA

\xc2\xb7 Strong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to maintain confidentiality.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with a variety of applicant tracking and related systems and proven ability to leverage those systems for success

\xc2\xb7 Proven success in recruiting tough-to-fill positions

\xc2\xb7 Experience in building recruitment tools that support DEI initiatives and elimination of bias

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated judgement, creativity, integrity and ability to problem solve.

\xc2\xb7 Strong communication skills written and verbal.

\xc2\xb7 Fluency in French and Spanish an asset.

\xc2\xb7 Advanced computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of a variety of sourcing tools, e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, Resume, social media, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to build credibility and confidence at all levels of the organization.

Required Qualifications :

\xc2\xb7 Completion of a diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent is preferred.

\xc2\xb7 3+ years of relevant experience in recruiting and talent acquisition, preferably within a testing or manufacturing or similar industry.

Physical Demands :

\xc2\xb7 Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day.
