Reporting to the Operations Director, Surgical Services, the Surgical Services Access Coordinator takes a leadership role in developing, implementing, evaluating and coordinating a waitlist management system for unscheduled cases for the assigned area. The Surgical Services Access Coordinator plays an integral role in facilitating a patient-specific plan that establishes a streamlined process, timely and appropriate access and placement to necessary care. The Surgical Services Access Coordinator works closely with the Operating Rooms, Recovery Rooms, the referring Physicians, physician offices, surgical wards, and the Coordinators of Site Operations to ensure efficient and equitable access for unscheduled surgical cases.
The coordinator supports the management team to assist them in the achievement of business and operational objectives including assuming the responsibility for daily activities of an administrative and non-clinical nature in the absence of the Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant discipline and minimum of five (5) years\' recent surgical experience in a large, complex health care environment, including Operating Room, with expertise in clinical assessment and program management.
Experience in the use of a variety of computer applications including Powerchart, word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing and database software skills.
