About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, SCM Oilsands Operations, the successful candidate will provide day-to-day materials procurement (including expediting). The Analyst, Upstream SCM role is responsible for increasing the effectiveness and cost-effective supply of materials, resolving PR/PO issues, support Planned and Un-planned Turnaround and Outages, and other material purchasing duties as required. This role will be primarily involved with supporting procurement requirements within Maintenance, Operations, and other auxiliary Site Service business areas of Oil Sands operations.

This position will be based at our office in downtown, Calgary, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

Complete and handle computerized material ordering and scheduling system using master data, fulfilling all material requirements (replenishment and demand). Promptly complete urgent material requests from business units.

Convert and/or modify planned orders to purchase requisitions. Research, validate and update sourcing for all non-contractual material masters based on BU requirements. Create and transmit request for quotes (RFQ).

Accept material quotes based on business unit requirements, previous purchasing history, and relevant safety guidelines (AML). Maintain RFQ\xe2\x80\x99s; verifying T&C\xe2\x80\x99s, INCO terms, payment terms, specifications, delivery date, price. Store RFQ documentation within centralized repository. Create manual requisitions to appropriate cost objects; forward to respective business unit to ensure financial governance.

Confer with Inventory, Contract reps and/or Category Management regarding cost, availability, validation of part number change and substitution of spare parts.

Collaborate with Supply Chain Services Center on contract discrepancies, confirmations, PO settlement, and GR/IR imbalances.

Work with planning groups to increase planning/material master requirements (usage).

Complete expediting report, following up on all material purchase orders.

Ensure compliance to company and Supply Chain processes and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Post-secondary education or certification in Supply Chain Management with up to 2 years of experience in a procurement environment.

Strong attention to detail, accurate, and analytical.

Ability to handle a high volume of work from multiple team members.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).

Investigative and analytical skills to achieve root cause problem identification and solution.

The following will be considered an asset:

Experience in the oil and gas industry.

Knowledge of contracts, Procure to Pay (P2P) lifecycle, ERP systems and reporting metrics.
