About this opportunity:
Reporting to the SCM Manager, the Senior SCM Projects Advisor will develop and handle the full life cycle of specific categories related to projects using market intelligence, forecasting and demand planning to develop category strategies to address key opportunities and upcoming projects in alignment with business objectives.
The Sr. Advisor will have strong collaboration skills, be agile and forward thinking to respond proactively to changing dynamics and anticipate evolving demand in a projects\xe2\x80\x99 environment. The incumbent will be an effective communicator, adept at ensuring appropriate messaging to key partners, with the ability to influence and identify shared solutions across the projects\xe2\x80\x99 team members, functions, suppliers, and service providers.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of category tactics and levers by employing them through the creation of fit for purpose strategies and solutions in an evolving Projects environment.
This position is based in our downtown Calgary, Alberta office. Periodic travel to other sites will be required.
Responsibilities:
Assess risk and support the development of category strategies in partnership with the Cenovus Projects team to achieve their overall objectives.
Develop and maintain a network of partners across Projects.
Support the annual & long-term strategic planning and budgeting of the Projects portfolio to secure supply of goods and services across Upstream and Downstream Projects.
Leverage spend data, business requirements, external market data, and other information to develop category strategies working alongside the Projects team.
Lead and handle all aspects of sourcing initiatives including RFx activities, development of negotiation strategies and recommendations to award.
Review, interpret, analyze, and negotiate contracts while driving contract utilization through effective implementation plans.
Drive post-award value through effective contract & supplier performance management.
Ensure compliance to all applicable corporate policies, including the Supply Chain Management policy, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
Advance collection and utilization of key market, spend and performance analytics to further business decisions, handle risk to supply and drive value in sourcing and supply activities.
Support risk reporting activities within SCM and Projects.
Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or related field;
Minimum of 10+ years of increasingly responsible and related experience
5+ years of demonstrated experience supporting projects
Solid understanding of the upstream and downstream Oil & Gas industry
Experience leading cross-functional teams through Category Management processes
Ability to take complex situations and leverage problem solving, communication, and project management skills to present sound recommendations
Experience negotiating large, complex commercial agreements
Strong financial competence to assess, verify and interpret deal economics and commitments
End-to-end Supply Chain experience including processes, tools and the interdependencies between category management, purchasing, materials management & logistics, supplier performance & relationship management
Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to tailor messaging to varying levels of partners
The following will be considered an asset:
Certification in Supply Chain Management (SCMP)
Background in oil & gas projects
SAP or other ERP experience
