PCC is looking for a summer student to join our Resource Management Team.
Reporting to the Director, Resource Management, you will provide professional, efficient and effective support. You\xe2\x80\x99ll gain knowledge of Reservoir Engineering and Resource Management specific to the Shale Gas asset and have the opportunity to apply academic concepts in the workplace.
This position is based out of our Calgary head office and is a four-month term starting May 2023. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
Accountabilities

  • Update public shale gas drilling, completion and production data and conduct analysis against PCC\xe2\x80\x99s internal data to identify the differences, historical trend for different areas and CGR bins
  • Conduct public literature on shale gas EOR technology, practice and key conclusions
  • Support geoscience team to update well maps for potential future locations
  • Closely work with production and reservoir engineers to improve data validation and correction workflow
  • Support reporting inputs and data QC as required

Qualifications
  • Completion of minimum 3rd year Petroleum, Geological or Chemical Engineering or completion of 1 year graduate studies
  • One previous work term is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Microsoft Office, Teams
  • Preferred software: GeoScout, IHS Harmony, CMG Winprop
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Confident, detail orientated and enthusiastic team player
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
