PCC is looking for a summer student to join our Oilsands Production Engineering Team.
Reporting to the Manager, Oilsands Production Engineering, you will support the Oilsands Production Engineering team by providing professional, efficient, and effective support. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have an opportunity to learn about the oilsands industry while assisting in the production and operation of the MacKay River (MRCP) asset.
This position is based out of our Calgary head office and is a four-month term starting May 2023. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
Accountabilities

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Management of Change (MOC) closeout
  • Update the bitumen viscosity and density database using Lab analysis results. Present trending to the team
  • Update and document the results of recent well optimization activities: Steam Push, Chemical Stimulation, liner remediations
  • Be part of team Production and Reservoir reviews, with the intent of questioning and presenting ideas for overall improvement (cold eyes)
  • Define a project of study to support a process improvement
  • Continue DMC support for data organization
  • Service Entry Sheet support for OpEx spending, and spend profile forecasting
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a minimum of 2nd year Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Microsoft Office, Teams
  • Preferred software: Windows Office, Asset: Wellview, SAP
  • A general understanding of SAGD, with a solid foundation of thermodynamic processes
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, detail orientated and enthusiastic team player
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team with a positive attitude
