THE ROLE:

Our summer student program provides an opportunity to experience real-world challenges, collaborate with diverse teams, network with other students and create a vision for your future career path.

Working with our Unconventional Center of Excellence (UCOE) Engineering team in Calgary, this will be a full-time student position from May to September 2023. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Operations support, working directly with UCOE Operations Specialist
  • Support and develop process simulations, and other operational and facilities support calculations
  • Support Operational Excellence activities, Bad Actor work, and field pipeline Digital twin development
  • Support ongoing work on a GHG Abatement Study which includes going through EPC contractor's calculations, findings evaluations, economics, and reports
  • Create presentations and write funding/grant applications
  • Review technology proposals and pitches from technology vendors
  • Participate in various projects as needed
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at a post-secondary institution in Canada, and must be returning to studies after the work term
  • Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, completion of 3rd year minimum
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with superior Excel skills
  • The ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with your team, peers, and diverse business groups
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time and data management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
