Job Description



A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Intel Foundry Services group is a challenging yet rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in integrated circuit design and test, from chiplets to SoCs. As a member of our team, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers/mentors to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting custom silicon solutions. You'll be oversee by a manager for your individual development.

The Silicon Validation team is an integral team that interacts with engineers from multiple disciplines. In this co-op, the candidate will have opportunities to use state-of-the-art electronic systems to emulate and validate various IP designs. As member of one of the largest electronics companies in the world, you will learn critical technical skills from industry experts while making a meaningful contribution to the design success of Intel Foundry Services' products.

Key Tasks include:

  • Test planning and test development using pre-silicon emulation models
  • Sighting documentation and corresponding debug
  • Post-silicon validation with emphasis on various high-speed interfaces using state-of-the-art equipment

Vancouver Office

Located in South Vancouver's urban town center at Cambie Street and SW Marine Drive, the Intel Marine Gateway site features direct access to the Canada line, bus transit, shops, restaurants, health care facilities and a movie theater. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with strong passion in embedded systems, problem solving abilities, excellent communication, and desire to learn. Technically, a solid foundation of Python and C programming is desired. The final job assignment will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working towards a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project based teamwork
  • Languages: C, C++, Python

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARM, RISC-V, and/or x86 software development experience
  • Synopsys ZeBu, Synopsys HAPS, and/or post-Si validation experience
  • Previous experience with PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, DRAM

Work Model for this Role


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
