Job Description



The Silicon Validation Hardware Team is responsible for the design of novel and proprietary electronic equipment. This equipment is used to optimize/characterize/validate state of the art ASICs, memory technologies and products. The Silicon Validation Hardware Team is a small team with a wide breadth of experience and skills spanning the utilization, design and/or validation of:

  • Firmware (RTOS, Drivers, PID Controllers, Linux)
  • Software (Python/MATLAB APIs, Optimization)
  • HDL
  • Board level Analog Circuitry (ADCs, Amplifiers, Signal Conditioning, Power Supplies, Radiated and Conducted Noise Injection, etc.)
  • Board level Digital Circuitry (FPGAs, MCUs, DRAM, NAND, Optane, PCIe, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Mechanicals (Fixtures, Thermal)
  • Thermal Management (Temperature Control, Heatsinks, System Analysis, Simulation)

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing a novel telemetry system that will be used with GPUs, Memories, ASICs, etc. As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting novel and proprietary equipment.

Vancouver Office:
Located in South Vancouver's urban town center at Cambie Street and SW Marine Drive, the Intel Marine Gateway site features direct access to the Canada line, bus transit, shops, restaurants, health care facilities and a movie theater. The site is also a quick 15-minute Skytrain away from downtown Vancouver.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working toward a BS in Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Strong circuit fundamentals: MOSFETs, BJTs, ADCs, DACs, Passives
  • 3D Modelling Experience with SolidWorks or similar software
  • Experience using lab equipment: Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, DMMS

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using digital communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART
  • Experience with schematic capture and layout
  • Experience with LTspice
  • Languages: C, C++, Python, MATLAB

Work Model for this Role


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
