Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Test Systems Engineering Co-Op located in our Newmarket, Ontario, Canada site.

Reporting to the Test Systems Design Manager, the Co-Op student will will be working with the Test Systems Engineering group and participate in the development, manufacturing, and programming of testing equipment to be used in the validation and production of electronic control modules for automotive applications. With the use of baseline tools and products, the Co-Op will be expected to troubleshoot and provide solutions to assure 100% functionality when delivered to any of the global manufacturing sites at which they are to be used.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Work with the Test systems engineering team to design, integrate, deploy and support production and validation test systems
  • Develop test software/hardware
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for faulty test equipment
  • Use baseline products and tools to verify functionality of testing equipment
  • Develop test system documentation: calibration procedures, BOMs etc
  • Participate in data analysis of test equipment results
Student qualities we're seeking for this Co-Op assignment:
  • Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program
  • Experience with C/C++ programming, reading/creating electrical schematics, probing and troubleshooting circuits
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment such as power supplies, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
  • Mechanical aptitude (drilling and taping holes)
Preferred Experiences:
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, etc.
  • Programming digital multimeters, power supplies and other instrumentation
  • PCB layout experience
  • Electrical Schematic Capture - Orcad/DipTrace preferred
  • Wiring experience (panel or breadboard)
  • Experience with LabView and/or LabWindows/cvi
  • Hands on skills including: soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly
Co-Op/Internship Program Requirements:
  • Available to work 37.5 hours/week (in-person) for the Co-Op assignment term
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
