The position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team and support our manufacturing processes. The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring our manufacturing teams have all the necessary materials to meet production plans while effectively managing inventory and minimizing cash tied up in procurement.

This position works from our Workshop in Canmore, Alberta.

What you\'ll be doing

• Procure all raw materials, packaging, and labels required by our Operations team, ensuring timely availability while optimizing investment in materials
• Establish and maintain efficient procurement systems to prevent write-offs and expiration of materials
• Collaborate with the Product Development team to identify and qualify multiple suppliers for all materials, ensuring a robust and diversified supply chain
• Create, maintain, and manage the entire lifecycle of purchase orders and other procurement documentation
• Ensure accurate data management in the ERP system (NetSuite) related to purchasing, contact information, payment terms, quantities, prices, lead-time, etc.
• Take ownership of vendor relationships, including managing contractual agreements and fostering effective partnerships
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of a vendor qualification system
• Collaborate with internal customers and key business leaders to understand their purchasing needs and timelines, and provide support accordingly
• Utilize strategic thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities to optimize procurement processes and drive efficiency

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar procurement role
• Bachelor\'s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, or equivalent experience is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other procurement-specific systems
• Strong background in supply chain and/or sourcing
• Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal customers and suppliers
• Strategic and analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities
• Strong negotiation skills; ability to influence and collaborate with internal customers to ensure optimal purchasing decisions and timelines
• Ability to work with and influence key business leaders to drive procurement objectives
