TalentWorld is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our client\'s category management team on a temporary basis in Toronto!

Our client, a prominent player in the government/public sector, is looking for a passionate individual to provide exceptional procurement services with a primary focus on Corporate and Professional services. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, assessing, and selecting suppliers, all while fostering strong relationships. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and the legal department, you will ensure efficient contract management and drive excellence in procurement practices.
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will have the chance to:
Assisting with reviewing, redesigning, and implementing procurement and cost-reduction strategies
Drive strategic supplier selection to enhance service, cost, lead time, and risk
Develop relationships and contribute to negotiations with vendors and suppliers
Obtain tenders/proposals and ensure requirements are compliant with company policy and procedures
Monitor and stay updated on market conditions and pricing for purchasing decisions
Develop and administration contract documents and conduct audits
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
Must have experience working in a public sector environment
Knowledge and experience in purchasing, sales, contract administration, and procurement processes
Strong proficiency in MS Suite (Word & Excel)
Professional purchasing accreditation or active enrollment with a professional body working toward certification is considered an asset
What is in it for you?
Employment type: 1-year contract
Wage: up to $40 per hour based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday
2-3 months of training on-site, hybrid after that (2 days on-site)
Location: Toronto
