Position: Senior Procurement Specialist (Crown Corporation)
Location: Montreal

What you need to know:

- 6-month contact with a strong possibility of permanence
- Salary will be between $50 and $55 per hour
- Until you become permanent, you will not yet have access to the benefits of the company but this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door to an amazing career

In this role, you will be responsible for contracts over $600K and will lead vendor management throughout the procurement and tender process.

More precisely you will: - Build robust internal relationships, grasp needs, and suggest best practices
- Advise stakeholders in acquisitions, shaping scope
- Research markets, unearth suppliers, evaluate competition, and assess risks
- Deeply understand market products/solutions, propose strategies, and exploit advantageous opportunities or address supplier-related threats with improvement solutions
- Collaboratively develop procurement strategies for projects, aligning with stakeholders
- Set calendars, priorities, and action plans for efficient solution implementation
- Ensure timely execution with governance adherence
- Aid internal clients in requirement development, ensure due diligence, define fitting procurement strategies, and establish timely supply schedules
- Craft clear submission requests, maintaining precise requirements for services, goods, and initiatives
- Mitigate risks, partner with legal for document development, and engage in evaluations
- Negotiate offers, aiming for best market conditions, and recommend executive approvals
- Liaise effectively with financial experts for post-contract orders, ensuring contractual alignment
- Manage contract renewals and amendments, aiding business units in clause interpretation
- Implement supplier performance policy, overseeing designated portfolio
- Act as facilitator for supplier and internal client issue management

What you need to apply:

- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Legal Services
- At least 6 years of experience in bid document preparation, submissions, evaluation grids, and contracting for goods and services (IT services would be an asset)
- Extensive experience in procurement strategy development, vendor management, bid preparation, negotiations, and detailed data and cost analysis
- Proactive, self-reliant, highly organized, and skilled in leadership and planning
- Excellent bilingual communication skills to communicate with international suppliers
- Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration
