The Role

Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Facilities and Operations, the Senior Manager will supervise IGM\xe2\x80\x99s Facilities Operations team across approximately 1.7 million square feet of commercial buildings in a multi-city portfolio.

The primary objective of this position is to support and direct the operations teams including third party suppliers and contractors to enforce the strategic direction and daily operations. This incumbent will assist the Director within the facilities operations structure, on decisions and actions that have the potential to significantly affect financial results.

The ideal candidate is seasoned in supervising staff in a property manager, facilities and operations setting. The successful incumbent will be a strategic thinker who is highly organized with a high degree of judgment and a keen eye for detail.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain service levels to meet departmental objectives. Establish operating procedures using best practices and lessons learned.
  • Monitor work progress to identify and resolve difficult and sometimes complex design or construction issues that are not immediately evident in a timely manner.
  • Support the direction of Corporate Real Estate, focusing on long range planning, service benchmarking, profitability as well as energy management and sustainability; supporting policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Support the Director in developing and managing the budget. While collaborating with the team; follow operating and expense parameters.
  • Provide technical support to the team when troubleshooting deficiencies or client service needs.
  • Establish development plans for the team to ensure continuous improvement and growth. Develops others through coaching and feedback.
  • Liaise with Senior Leaders and key stakeholders to ensure peak operational effectiveness ensuring expectations are understood and met, while engaging in continuous improvement of processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Engages with peers and strategic partners to enhance the employee experience, while ensuring operational due diligence is achieved throughout the Facilities and Operations team.
  • Manage third party strategic partner relationships.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of industry experience in progressively senior positions with experience working in the areas of facilities, operations, and property management
  • Technical knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
  • Experience in building codes and facilities management life cycle costing
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with senior level stakeholders.
