Job Title Senior Manager, Real Estate Advisory Finance
What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Real Estate Advisory Finance is responsible for end-to-end accounting, advisory and analysis of enterprise occupancy costs. The successful incumbent will work collaboratively with Financial Control team to ensure that accounting for occupancy costs is GAAP compliant including supporting the Functions Financial Control team in the cyclical review of the material IFRS 16 lease balances and real estate fixed assets.
As the Senior Manager, Real Estate Advisory Finance, you must be a subject matter expert in many aspects of Real Estate. You will proactively support the identification and resolution of complex real estate accounting and taxation issues such as implementation of new Accounting Standards, while leading efforts to ensure continued compliance with accounting policy, as well as analyzing and communicating impacts to other stakeholders.
What will you do?
Provide proactive advice to senior management on business performance, cost trends, early warnings, savings opportunities, business case and decision support.
Lead and innovate the occupancy cost business planning / forecasting process, including the development and maintenance of qualitative and quantitative performance measures.
Manages business change initiatives for enterprise occupancy.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, completeness of financial information including the allocation of enterprise occupancy costs to business platforms.
Coordinate financial analysis on ad hoc project/requests as assigned.
Manage, maintain, and enhance the charge-out/recovery process for the enterprise occupancy costs.
Primary liaison for Platform senior managers for understanding and explaining occupancy charge-outs and costs to various platforms.
Manage, maintain, and enhance the enterprise occupancy vendor relationship, liaising with the finance component of our service providers.
Provide financial subject matter expertise for assessment, analysis, tracking of opportunities and outcomes of real estate projects.
Coordinate project financial analysis and vendor relationship supporting Cable Infrastructure Management (CIM) projects.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
Accounting designation (CPA preferred)
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and finance systems
Professional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working with senior management and executives
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an environment with tight deadlines
Highly proficient with MS Excel (graphs, pivot tables, vlookups) and PowerPoint (creating presentations from scratch)
Must be an independent worker and thinker, as well as demonstrate a team-oriented spirit
Nice to Have:
5+ years of related finance experience, within a consulting, engineering, or corporate Real Estate environment and or RBC specific experience
Extensive knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting
