Job Description


We\'re looking for a transformational leader who is equal parts creative and operations minded. The Senior Manager, Creative Operations leads the creative studio team to deliver strategic, integrated and effective digital and print creative across multiple owned and paid channels.

The Senior Manager, Creative Operation will set the strategic vision to transform the creative operations function to ensure that industry-leading processes and tools are in place to be highly effective and cost efficient. The role will champion new ways of working and partner with senior firm leadership to get buy in to implement marketing work management and creative technology solutions. The role reports to the Director of Digital and leads a team of 3 creative professionals.

Specific responsibilities include:

Innovation

  • Accountable for transforming the end-to-end creative operations process from project intake to delivery to measurement for continuous improvement
  • Research, create requirements, make recommendations and implement innovative marketing technology to drive team efficiency
  • Proactively develop efficient systems and identify areas of process optimization
  • Define appropriate reporting metrics to measure effectiveness of work and efficiency of processes
  • Continuous innovation and delivery of streamlined processes to drive efficient work deliverables with high quality outputs
  • Implement the best processes and latest technologies to enable the rest of the creative team to provide extraordinary deliverables to stakeholders
TeamLeadership
  • Individually accountable for evaluating, selecting and implementing tools to transform current processes to support the firm\'s business goals
  • Drive firm-wide adoption of technologies and facilitate learning of new technologies that enable continuous improvement of outputs
  • Responsible for overall leadership and operational excellence of the creative studio team - including quality, efficiency and effectiveness of work and internal group processes and performance
  • Coach and mentor staff on estimating cost of projects, compiling and updating schedules, planning strategies for print and digital projects, project QC, developing project briefs, and use of creative tools and resources
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
  • Champion new creative operations processes as a highly visible thought leader throughout the firm
  • Act as the liaison between internal stakeholders and creative team to manage projects from conception through completion
  • Manage and promote smooth workflow and communication between internal functions
  • Ensure that established processes and documentation are followed
  • Determines need for and manages outside vendor relationships (e.g., freelance designers, illustrators) as necessary for the completion of projects
Project Management
  • Overall accountability for ensuring all team projects are delivered to high standards and are on time and on budget
  • Drive adoption of new project management function to streamline marketing campaign processes
  • Manage end-to-end projects from establishing job milestones and deadlines by setting priorities and assigning to appropriate staff
  • Generate timelines for the creative studio team to hand off assets on agreed upon schedule and communicate schedule to all teams as needed
  • Monitor timelines to ensure efficient, on-time delivery of work while being able to assess and address any issues or concerns that may cause delays
  • Create and manage milestones for all assigned projects by monitoring job progress through tracking schedules, communicating changes and job status and proactively address and resolve workload barriers
Resource Management
  • Introduce methods of forecasting resourcing needs for all work and make recommendations leveraging historical data
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the scope of work, resourcing and schedule for all creative studio team members
  • Ensure project specs are communicated to the creative studio and manage the day-to-day workflow once resources are assigned to projects
  • Partners with the Clients & Markets leadership team and marketers across Canada and globally to ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality deliverables that meets objectives
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a creative production role
  • PMP certification
  • Strong knowledge of design and production for marketing, campaigns, advertising and events
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Experience in owing and implementing a marketing work management platform
  • Proficiency in Workfront or other project management platform
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to juggle many moving parts and timelines
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to succinctly communicate verbally and in writing, and provide clear direction on projects
