Operating within the integrated DCI organization, this position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and collaborate across functional teams to deliver on the organization\'s purpose for the West White Rose project while upholding the guiding principles of safety, collaboration, and operational excellence.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:The Senior Manager, DCI Operations ensures the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of the WWR well program while maintaining well integrity and compliance with COIMS and local regulations. They lead the DCI Operations segment, collaborating with Cenovus staff, contractors, and regional teams to achieve objectives, optimize workflow, and support decision-making. Reporting to the VP of Subsurface Drilling Completions Interventions (SSDCI), they oversee the execution of DCI operational work in the Atlantic Region, with formal direct reports including the D&C Superintendent, Intervention Superintendent, and DCI Operations Engineers.Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Strategic Leadership: Ensure safe and compliant execution of well operations, aligning with COIMS, Cenovus Policies/Standards, local regulations, and industry best practices. Lead onshore and offshore DCI Operations teams, O&M contractors, and Delivery Service Providers, promoting collaboration, safety, and operational excellence.Operational Coordination: Ensure seamless integration and execution of West White Rose project operations, coordinating stakeholders, adhering to budgets and schedules, and optimizing resource utilization for safe and efficient start-up and ongoing activities.Integration with DCI Engineering: Collaborate closely with DCI Engineering to align operational plans with engineering design, provide input on feasibility, and participate in joint planning for optimized project performance.Performance Measurement and Improvement: Develop and implement KPIs to monitor and improve well operations, steward offshore performance, support and drive digital transformation initiatives, and manage DCI Service Providers.Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as primary contact for stakeholders, represent Cenovus in industry forums, and advocate best practices and regulatory compliance.Development and Management Systems: Develop and maintain core management system documentation associated with DCI Operations, compile regulatory documentation, and maintain operational records.Financial Oversight: Assist in invoicing and cost control, track budget KPIs, and oversee DCI Operations budget.Equipment and Contractor Oversight: Interface with rig contractor, oversee equipment preparation, conduct post-job analysis, and support vendor reviews and negotiations.Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate and recommend technologies for cost-efficient operations.Emergency Response: Support and play an active role in the Atlantic Region Emergency Response team and coordination.Talent Management and Development: Manage compliance with Competency & Training Systems and Safety Critical Role responsibilities; mentor and develop junior staff, provide oversight to the audit of service contractor\xe2\x80\x99s Competency Management System.Who you are:Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.20+ years\' experience in drilling, completions, and interventions, with significant leadership in onshore roles.Proven success managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects, preferably offshore.Strong technical expertise in drilling and completions, compliant with industry standards and regulations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving focused on safety and operational excellence.Relevant certifications (e.g., Well Control Certification) and safety training preferred.Eligible for Professional Engineer registration with PEGNL.May require periodic offshore travel and medical clearance.Preference given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada under the Accords Act.AssetsExperience leading operational teams in offshore development well construction; including intervention operations and operations on platform wells.Horizontal and extended reach well design and operational experienceExposure and experience with non-drilling functional scopes, such as reservoir and production engineering, integrity engineering, subsea well systems and associated operationsExperience that includes exposure to an offshore and/or harsh weather subsea and platform development environment.Knowledge of current Cenovus Atlantic Region operations and offshore activities in the Jeanne D\xe2\x80\x99Arc Basin in general.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT March 28th, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Consistent with the Accords Act, residents of Newfoundland and Labrador specifically and Canada generally, who are qualified, will be given first consideration for training and employment.Who we are:We\xe2\x80\x99re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
