Role Overview: You are a Senior Destruction VFX Artist with technical experience creating beautiful, chaotic and realistic VFX in games or film. You will help define our production techniques, maintain budgets while focusing on the highest quality execution - with empathy and clarity being at the heart of who you are as a leader.

Reporting to the Studio Art Director, the Senior Destruction VFX Artist is a practical artist, accomplished in all aspects of art and production techniques while being inspired by film, 2d and 3d design, graphic and architectural design and being an expert in the requirements of the games industry.

Responsibilities
  • You will work with the Art Director to define the VFX process for the studio. This includes editing and preparing game models while choosing the correct process to implement in the game engine.
  • You will implement, polish, and refine your work based on feedback and direction.
  • You will write documentation, contribute to & maintain production requirements such as stand-ups, feedback and communication with peers.
  • Cross discipline collaboration as a core tenant of who you are and how you work.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Senior Destruction Artist.
  • Shipped 2 or more AAA games with at least one of those games in the position of senior or lead VFX artist.
  • Experience with industry VFX packages to shatter, simulate, flood and set fire to in-game geometry in real time (example: FumeFx, RayFire, Houdini, Maya Fluids, Alembic, Popcorn FX, MASH).
  • An understanding of VFX process, realistic execution and beautiful visuals.
  • Experience working with an Art Director to develop direction and quality goals which are shared with the team.
  • Knowledge of commercial and proprietary games engines is a must as this is a hands-on position.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
\xc2\xba $77,600 - $119,000 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
