In the Senior Accountant role, you will support the company's goals by preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, establishing budgets and forecasting, preparing audits, and handling internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Exceptional analytical skills are required to excel in this role. A full-time role, this position includes excellent compensation and benefits. You will also have the possibility of growth as this is a succession plan to Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager. This Senior Accountant role is located in Nisku, Alberta.

Responsibilities

- Engage in various department-wide initiatives

- Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

- Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with ASPE

- Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

- Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

- Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Perform a wide variety of cost accounting functions including job costing, cost of revenue analysis, profitability, and variance analysis

Requirements

- 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

- Completion of/or close to CPA designation

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Current and relevant ERP system experience

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting

- Command of cost analysis

- Proficiency in account analysis

- Well-founded grasp of financial statement preparation

- Proven knowledge of variance analysis

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
