REMCAN Projects LP is currently seeking a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT to join their Finance & Accounting team in the greater Vancouver area of Langley, BC our Corporate head office.
Currently, the position works a rotational schedule including one week in office and three weeks remote. This position reports directly to the Controller.

As the Senior Accountant, you will provide support to the finance team by planning, analyzing, and reporting performance of various REMCAN initiatives.
To be successful in this role, candidates MUST be able to prioritize their assigned work and work under pressure with minimal supervision while meeting or exceeding team expectations. Successful candidates must be able to effectively communicate in both smaller groups as well as present information in formal presentative settings while maintaining the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Primary Duties for the Senior Accountant:

• 
  Oversee the daily operations of the business including supervision of the Accounts Payable team
• Review journal entries relating to AR, AP, fixed assets, inventory, and accruals
• Prepare and maintain schedules for balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and analyze cost variances, allocations, and job costing
• Preparation and review of various tax remittance forms and filings

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years full cycle accounting experience
• 3-5 years of experience in successfully managing a team
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with mid-size ERP systems
• Experience implementing change and improving existing system and processes
• Previous experience in the contracting /construction/ industry is an asset
