Staff Accountant

CPA public accounting firm located in Abbotsford is looking for a Senior Accountant. We are looking for a detail-oriented person who not only possesses the skills, knowledge, and experience required but who also has a positive attitude, the ability to work well independently, able to be a leader, and communicate well with clients and staff.
There is a potential for partnership within the firm for the right candidate.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Well organized, great at multi-tasking, detailed/accurate, strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Sage 50 & QuickBooks and Profile knowledge proficiency.
- MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience working with multiple companies and multi-currency.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and income tax regulations.
Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Year-end file preparation.
- Occasional bookkeeping Tasks: *Full-cycle bookkeeping for small to medium-sized businesses; * Preparation of payrolls, remittances, and records of employment.
- Preparation of T4 slips.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
