Operations including dispatch and customer service are maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at both Calgary and Edmonton branches. We are currently looking for a Safety and Compliance Clerk who will be responsible for supporting all regulatory compliance in our growing organization. The Compliance and Safety Administrator will support and oversee both the Calgary (Head Office) and Edmonton Terminals ensuring that the operating fleets are compliant with legislation and company policies and procedures. Safety and Compliance Clerk will work closely with the Safety and Compliance Manager on implementation and monitoring all key safety aspects of the organization.
Key duties and responsibilities
Monitor on-road driver behavior.
Responsible for conducting daily spot checks for pre-post truck/trailer inspections and overall driving.
Monitor dash-cams daily and communicate behavioral and driving improvements to drivers on a continuous basis.
Maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial transportation requirements.
Conduct driver disciplinary procedures and document disciplinary notices.
Coordinate and communicate required safety information with other departments.
Conduct necessary incident investigations as required and steward the incident reporting process.
Support driver recruitment, hiring, training, and discipline procedures.
Provide on-site support to accidents and incidents.
Creating, Maintaining and updating records for COR.
Fleet Management including, documentation for new trucks, coordinating with other departments to ensure equipment are setup correctly in the system with required federal/provincial regulations.
Assist with insurance claim process, provide information to insurance adjusters and conduct reporting.
Ad-Hoc duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Safety and Compliance experience in logistics/trucking industry.
Intermediate working knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft applications.
Motivated, Initiative-taking, organized and maintains a personal accountability to deliver on expectations with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and transparent effective communicator, both verbal and electronic.
Working knowledge of federal & provincial safety standards and regulations is an asset.
Ability to answer phone calls after-hours.
Class 5 Driver's License Required.
