Trouw Nutrition is hiring\xe2\x80\xa6 we are looking to add a Research Manager to our Innovation team in the Guelph, ON area.

As our Research Manager, you will work closely with a team of experts to implement our innovation strategy for a diverse multispecies project portfolio. You will lead, coach, and develop a team of Research Scientists and a Quality Assurance Manager, driving performance excellence and fostering a culture of innovation. Collaboration with internal and external experts, species portfolio managers, and Directors of Technology Application will be key to developing and executing our innovation portfolio.

KEY REPONSIBILITIES

Team Management:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Research Scientists and a Quality Assurance Manager.
• Implement performance management, professional development, and succession plans.
• Manage researchers\' responsibilities and tasks in innovation projects, ensuring the quality of the output.

R&D Portfolio Management:

We count on your expertise to strategically plan multi-species research aligned with global business goals and communicate research strategy organization wide.

• Oversee R&D budget, planning, and project quality. Ensure appropriate project resources and track progress.
• Develop and manage internal and external research network and reporting.
• Collaborate with Global business units for local R&D needs.
• Ensure quality compliance and may fulfill roles like study director or responsible scientist.
• Submit research exemptions as needed with CFIA.

Business Support:

• Train, transfer knowledge, and implement technology for the team.
• Participate in key account meetings, seminars, and research projects.
• Help with regulatory dossier submissions for new feed additives.

Presentation and Communication:

• Represent Trouw Nutrition at scientific conferences.
• Promote Trouw Nutrition R&D and Nutreco\'s innovation image.

Preferred Hiring Criteria:

• PhD preferred with 5+ years proven R&D Manager experience. Agriculture, feed, or food industry experience preferred.
• Excellent planning and project management abilities. Strong presentation skills.
• Exceptional English written and verbal skills; French a plus.
• Effective cross-functional teamwork.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, time management, and organizational skills.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Willingness to travel as required, both domestically and globally.
