Position Overview The Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for two (2) Research Analyst(s). This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Director, Health Technology Assessment Unit. Position Description Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Use creativity in methodological approaches and their application to policy relevant work
  • Development of scientifically rigorous knowledge synthesis products that follow best practices in conduct and reporing
  • Innovative and creative approaches to diverse knowledge synthesis products in variety of diseases and conditions
  • Complete systematic policy literature searches
  • Contribute to the execution of qualitative studies and key informant interviews
  • Contribute to quantitative health services research
  • Execute multiple projects in a timely fashion while upholding the best practices for scientific rigor within the field of knowledge synthesis and policy analysis
  • Contribute to project and timeline development as appropriate
  • Preparation of manuscripts for publication, and other dissemination activities
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • MSc. or PhD in health services research, social sciences with a focus in health, or health policy
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in related discipline
  • Experience with systematic reviews and meta-analysis required
  • Extensive knowledge of theory and practical application of health research
  • Experience and exposure within a health policy environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated strength in communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scientific writing, including scientific abstracts, manuscripts for peer-review, and other scientific products
  • Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable
