Reporting to the Manager, Capital and Technical Services, the Project Manager, is responsible for managing and leading large scale projects and initiatives and managing cross functional teams to deliver projects on time and on budget, over the entire project life cycle. Responsibilities
  • Managing and coordinating the project management function including but not limited to budgeting, resource allocation, stakeholder communication and site inspections for all capital projects
  • Managing contractors and sub-trades through regular meetings to ensure quality control, health and safety standards, contract compliance, project completion/review and warranty
  • Managing project/contract administration including cost, schedule and change order control through ongoing monitoring and review against approved budget
  • Liaising with project stakeholders and providing project management services including developing scope of work, detailed design/drawings, coordination of client department needs, bid preparation and document/permit maintenance and approvals and assisting with consultant selection and management
Requirements
  • Knowledge and skills generally associated with the completion of a four (4) year university degree in Engineering or Architecture and a minimum of seven (7) years in a project management environment, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and technical training in building sciences is an asset. Municipal government experience is preferred
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in leading large scale projects and initiatives and managing cross-functional team to deliver projects on time and budget
  • Strong organizational, research and analytical skills are a must, as are highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of various trades involved with environmental systems/services (HVAC and refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, life safety systems), building technologies, building infrastructure and land development
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid, unrestricted Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Licence, minimum Class \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d
