Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees.
Job Title: Recruitment Assistant Location: St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL Position Type: 1 full-time position to March 31, 2023, with possibility of extension based Closing Date: 24 March, 2023
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Recruitment Assistant will be responsible for advertising, screening, interviewing, offering and onboarding hires for the summer student jobs.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to capture their summer jobs hiring needs;
  • Post all summer job vacancies on the various platforms;
  • Monitor incoming applications via job boards, HRIS and website;
  • Screen of candidates and providing feedback to hiring managers;
  • Communicate or reach out to potential candidates through social media, and other networks
  • Arrange and/or conduct interviews with candidates;
  • Prepare offer letters to successful candidates;
  • Conduct HR onboarding sessions for new hires (including preparation of the hiring package and ensuring that all hiring documents are completed)
  • Liaise with candidates throughout the recruitment process and until hired;
  • Maintain accurate records of all candidates and interview data;
  • Communicate and coordinate with interdepartmental teams for successful relay of information;
  • Creating excellent working relationships with hiring managers and candidates;
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in human resources or related field;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite
  • Previous experience as a recruiter is an asset.

Conditions of Employment
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Flexible to work outside of standard core hours (Monday-Friday, 9 am -5 pm)
  • Position is subject to a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
