The Opportunity:

As a Recreation Leader you will be primarily leading summer day camps, however, there may be opportunity to lead school year camps, children\'s programming and childcare throughout the rest of the year.

  • Lead quality preschool and children\'s programs (including recreational programs and day camps) for children 3 - 12 years of age
  • Plan and implement a variety of activities including arts and crafts, dance, games, sports and music
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for the children
  • Uphold rules and guidelines within the facility
  • Provide customer service to parents, children and public
You Bring:
  • Preferred applicants will be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Previous experience working with children is required
  • Prior experience as a Leader, or volunteering at Genesis Place would be an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid - Level C CPR and AED Certification (provide copy of certification with application)
  • Motivated and enthusiastic disposition
  • Ability to plan and organize
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
  • Mature and reliable
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team to create and facilitate daily and weekly children\'s programs
  • Demonstrated decision making skills

Additional Information:

Hours will vary by season based on program registration.

Successful candidates who have the required experience, skills and fit may have the opportunity for additional hours as a Child Care Leader.
