The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is recognized internationally for its clinical, educational and research excellence. Our faculty are clinical and academic leaders who are breaking new ground on issues ranging from inner city health, addiction medicine, global health, palliative care, immigrant and indigenous health and far more. The DFCM is home to the Physician Assistant (PA) Program, a full-time professional, second-entry undergraduate degree program delivered in collaboration with Northern Ontario School of Medicine and the Michener Institute of Education at the University Health Network.

This project is funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and focuses on pharmacists\' involvement in delivering long-acting injectable buprenorphine (LAIB) for opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment. It will be conducted in partnership with investigators and integrated knowledge users from Nova Scotia Health, Saskatchewan Health, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada, the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network, the Ontario Pharmacists Association, the Monash Addiction Research Centre, and The University of Sydney.

As Qualitative Research Coordinator, you will play an integral role in this project, in addition to a broader program of work on improving OUD treatment in primary care. You will support this project by conducting semi-structured interviews and analyzing qualitative data; liaising with our co-investigators and knowledge users to provide project updates; assisting with organizing knowledge mobilization activities; and assisting with the dissemination of research findings. Your strong communication, collaborative, analytical, and critical thinking skills will be key to yoursuccess in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting qualitative semi-structured interviews and collecting and analyzing documentary data
  • Qualitative data analysis of interviews and documents
  • Liaising with co-investigators and knowledge users to provide project updates, and for knowledge mobilization activities
  • Coordinating knowledge mobilization activities (e.g. seminars and workshops)
  • Assisting with the preparation and formatting of manuscripts according to publication guidelines
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years\' relevant experience coordinating research projects with in an academic and/or healthcare setting
  • Experience supporting multiple projects, including tracking project timelines and deliverables
  • An understanding of and experience with qualitative research and analysis
  • Experience providing administrative support to working groups and committees, including coordinating meetings, drafting meeting materials and minute taking
  • Experience supporting the preparation of manuscripts and other knowledge outputs
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, survey tools, video conference platforms (Zoom, MS Teams) and qualitative analytical software (NVivo)
  • Ability to interpret results and contribute to manuscripts and other deliverables
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload and the flexibility to adjust to changing work plans, schedules and deadlines
  • Strong work ethic andthe ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team and ability to be proactive for identification and resolution of issues
