The Research Coordinator supports the processes and functions of the Test Review Committee (TRC) of BC\xe2\x80\x99s Agency for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (Agency). The Research Coordinator leads qualitative analysis and documents findings to support the intake process. Provides key contributions to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of the review process and its proceedings to ensure the Committee\xe2\x80\x99s Terms of Reference are adhered to consistently and accurately. The Research Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operations of the Test Review Committee by conducting literature reviews, tracking progress and milestones, managing documentation control and compiling reports. The Research Coordinator attends all TRC meetings and keeps a complete and accurate account of all business transacted. The role supports the smooth operations of the Test Reivew Committee with timely and cogent communications and is the designated representative to exchange information and decisions between the Committee, Agency, Ministry of Health and external stakeholders.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Triage applications for new lab testing to determine if eligibility and intake requirements are met.
  • Ensure key goals for the Test Review Committee are achieved by conducting data mining, literature reviews, and qualitative analysis. Coordinate with related departments to obtain utilization, economic and statistical data to support the test review process.
  • Develop, maintain and implement various processes, guidelines, policies and procedures such as process flow charts, application materials, and reference materials. Ensure adherence to policies and document control.
  • Prepare reports, letters and clinical/scientific relevant information for the Chair of the Test Review Committee. Manage all communications and correspondences to Committee members and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Test Review Committee meetings, including preparing and advance distribution of document packages for committee members to support decision making, maintaining official records of decisions from the Committee, and following action items through to completion.
  • Coordinate the processes for appointment and selection process of the Test Review Committee members.
  • Advise the Chair of the Test Review Committee on the processes and reference documents to ensure consistent and accurate application of the protocols
What you bring
  • A minimum level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Sciences or related discipline plus a minimum of five (5) years recent experience working in clinical environment.
  • Working experience in laboratory medicine is preferred.
You will also have:
  • Demonstrated working experience and facilitation skills with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior executives, medical leadership and administrators.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory medicine terminology, Laboratory Services Act, its regulation and laboratory medicine payment schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and academic community and government.
  • Demonstrated work experience in research and literature reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience with setting up and maintaining documentation control and management system.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Salary Range: $67,864 - $97,555/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
