The WHRI has a strategic framework for knowledge translation. This position supports projects which will impact policy and practice change in women\xe2\x80\x99s health. This particular Research Coordinator role will benefit from skills related to knowledge translation and exchange, knowledge mobilization, as well as qualitative research experience.


What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Participates in a number of digital health research program initiatives and projects by providing feedback to Investigators, Managers and Directors on project progress. Highlights concerns and issues from Research Assistants and administrative staff regarding project activities such as data entry, survey administration, data collection and communicates concerns to the Research Projects Manager and/or PI along with recommendations for improvement.
  • Compiles, analyzes, summarizes and communicates data to facilitate project progress. Evaluates whether project objectives/milestones are met in consultation with the thematic unit leader(s) and Research Projects Manager.
  • Provides feedback on issues/concerns with past projects and makes recommendations to assist the thematic unit leader(s) and Research Projects Managers in the preparation of letters of intent, grants and collaborations and final applications for inter- and trans-disciplinary research grants in digital health
  • As directed by the Research Projects Manager, the Coordinator facilitates ethics submissions by communicating with the ethics board and directing the Research Assistant to upload documents, type consent forms etc.
  • Assists in the recruitment of suitable research project participants by performing duties such as contacting eligible participants, communicating research projects goals and processes to participants, explaining potential risks and possible benefits, answering participant questions and reviewing and witnessing consent forms. Maintains research subject records using appropriate filing systems.
  • Schedules and coordinates study meetings by booking rooms for use in interviews and communicating with participants/ stakeholders about appointments by phone/email.
  • Drafts consent forms in consultation with the Research Projects Manager and/or PI, completes case report forms and follows up on data queries brought to their attention by Research Assistants or Analyst. Acts a resource for Research Assistants.
  • Contributes to the preparation, assembly, presentation and distribution of project proposals and reports by compiling information, preparing reporting information including charts, tables and figures. Responds to requests from the Digital Health Research Manager or Study PIs for updates on study progress
  • Provides guidance and assistance to the Research Assistants in conducting research literature searches and reviews and edits and formats for reports and articles for submission to journals.
  • Acts as a liaison between research managers, research assistants and participants.
  • Supports the capacity building work of the digital health research initiative by assisting with planning ongoing seminars and events under the direction of the Digital Health Research Manager



What you bring


Qualifications
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 3 years of recent, related experience in a health research environment.



You will also have:
  • Knowledge of the process of research projects from proposals to publications.
  • Knowledge of grant application procedures and granting agency requirements, scientific terminology and research methodology in the health sector
  • Manage multiple tasks and assignments within a fast paced environment.
  • Organizational, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • computer literacy using word processing, database and internet applications and tools.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission\xe2\x80\x99s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time (until April 14, 2024)
Salary Range: $52,156 - $68,455 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
Location: 4500 Oak Street, Vancouver BC, V6H 2N9
