Role Summary Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Property Services Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and seasonal tasks for assigned CGLC properties. The role requires adherence to safety standards and delivering exceptional customer service. This position serves as an entry-level role with potential for advancement within the Facilities Management department.
Key Accountabilities
Conducts exterior and interior maintenance tasks according to the maintenance routine, including emptying waste receptacles, removing litter from various areas, and cleaning up spills promptly.
Performs interior maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs, cleaning lockers, and general suite preparation tasks.
Executes preventive building maintenance duties assigned through the CMMS system, such as plumbing repairs, pressure washing, and door repairs.
Completes seasonal tasks like installing holiday lights and snow removal as needed.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or GED. Building maintenance experience is an asset but not required for the right individual.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with trades related to building maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of various building maintenance procedures and techniques.
Proficiency in handling machinery, equipment, and tools required for building maintenance.
Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Competence in following safety practices and identifying hazards.
Skill in using hand and power tools.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and the public.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Moderate to heavy work in all weather conditions.
Frequent standing, squatting, walking, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
May perform similar actions throughout the workday.
