The Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Senior Project Manager with various low-rise development projects from the pre-construction process through the construction phase to closeout. As the Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provides administrative support to the Senior Project Manager.
  • Assist in all work activities on assigned low-rise construction projects to ensure the design, project specifications, regulations and safety codes are met.
  • Assist in all project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. In addition, assist in establishing and delivering mechanisms for tracking and communicating project progress.
  • Work with the site construction team, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers to ensure they are meeting all project contractual obligations.
  • Attend regular construction meetings to review schedules/activities associated with the low-rise department
  • Assist in closely monitoring the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
  • Assist in delivering mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting.
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, or similar.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience within the low-rise residential real estate development industry
  • Strong familiarity with construction documentation including the ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and proficient with MS Office (Word, Project, etc.), and experience with NewStar is an asset.
  • Exceptional written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
