About this Role We are currently seeking an energetic and passionate individual to join the non-profit Georgian Bay Accelerator (GBA) as a Program and Communications Coordinator. This position plays a crucial role in our organization, handling our communications strategy and execution, coordinating our startup program, managing our events, and ensuring our office runs smoothly. What you will do Communications:

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy that enhances our visibility and promotes startup and mentor acquisition.
  • Create a consistent content plan for our social media platforms and blogs.
  • Conduct research for content development and strategic planning.
  • Write engaging and persuasive copy for posts and blogs.
  • Design visually captivating social media posts.
  • Update our website regularly with fresh and relevant content.
  • Prepare compelling presentations for our board, stakeholders, events, and public engagements.
Program Coordination:
  • Maintain clear and prompt communication with program applicants.
  • Manage our program database efficiently.
  • Coordinate our program application process between applicants, GBA staff and our Selection Committee.
  • Track and coordinate program delivery with participants, GBA staff, lead coach, and mentors.
Events:
  • Develop a robust event calendar for the year.
  • Conceive unique and engaging themes for individual events.
  • Organize and prepare for events, including marketing efforts.
  • Handle communications with attendees, mentors, and VIPs.
  • Manage our event sponsorship program and ensure seamless event operations.
Mentor Program:
  • Manage and continually enhance our mentor program, ensuring it provides valuable guidance to our participants.
Alumni Program:
  • Develop and coordinate initiatives for our alumni, fostering a strong and supportive network.
Office Administration:
  • Manage office expenses and supplies.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for our bookkeeper
Your Qualifications The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for working with inspiring founders and startups, and ideally experience in a similar role. You\'ll be an excellent multitasker and problem solver, able to handle a range of responsibilities with a proactive attitude. Experience with social media and content creation is essential, as well as basic knowledge of office administration. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wants to make a real difference in the startup community. The position is a full-time, hybrid remote / in-person role, with typically 2 to 3 days in our office.
