Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including chopping, slicing, and portioning Assist with food assembly and plating to ensure presentation standards are met Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards Support the kitchen team during meal preparation and cooking processes Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed Contribute to a positive kitchen environment by working collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and servers

Skills

Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary fundamentals Experience with menu planning and meal assembly processes Proficiency in food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation practices Familiarity with restaurant or food service environments, including catering or catering preparation Excellent knife skills and ability to perform precise food prep tasks efficiently Knowledge of food industry standards for quality control and safety regulations Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Good communication skills to coordinate effectively within a busy kitchen team
