We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook to join our butcher shop. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in sausage preparation, meat grinding, and even some meat cutting, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats.
Assist in meal preparation by following recipes and portioning food according to specifications.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
Ensure all food safety standards are met, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
Collaborate with butchers and other kitchen staff to ensure timely completion of tasks
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Help with cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils after use.
Skills
Proficient in food preparation techniques with a solid understanding of the food industry.
Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is required.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
Good knife skills are an asset
Familiarity with meal preparation processes and kitchen equipment.

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
