Job Description

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting with the daily kitchen operations to support smooth meal service. This role ensures that all food preparation tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the Abbey's standards.

Key Responsibilities



Wash, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients for daily meal service. Measure and assemble ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards. Assist cooks with meal preparation and plating as directed. Make salads and baked goods Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen tools, and storage areas. Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols at all times. Monitor inventory of ingredients and notify the Kitchen Supervisor of low-stock items. Assist with receiving deliveries and proper storage of supplies. Support special events, large meals, or seasonal menu preparations as needed.

Qualifications & Experience



Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred. Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment. Understanding of food safety standards (Food Safe Level 1 preferred). Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Good time management and organizational skills. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Schedule



Tuesday - Saturday (1:15pm - 7:15pm)

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $17.85-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
