Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to menu specifications and recipes
Assist in menu planning and portioning for various meals
Handle food safely and hygienically, adhering to all food safety regulations
Use knife skills and other culinary techniques for food preparation
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Support cooking processes by assisting chefs with meal preparation and plating
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients
Assist with catering events or special meal requests as needed
Follow all health department guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
Prior experience in food preparation, kitchen work, or the food industry preferred
Knowledge of dietary department practices and menu planning is a plus
Strong knife skills and familiarity with cooking techniques required
Experience in food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards necessary
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if needed
Culinary experience or training from a restaurant or catering background is advantageous
