Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Prior experience in the food industry, including restaurant or catering settings, is highly valued. The Prep Cook will play a vital role in assisting with menu planning, food handling, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and components for menu items according to recipes and standards Perform food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients Support cooking activities by following established procedures and maintaining quality standards Ensure proper food handling and storage practices to uphold food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts Assist with plating and presentation of dishes as needed Follow dietary guidelines and assist with meal assembly for dietary departments or special menus Support kitchen staff during busy periods, including serving and catering assistance when required

Experience

Previous experience in dietary departments, food service, or restaurant kitchens is preferred Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary skills such as knife handling is advantageous Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures is essential Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Prior exposure to the food industry or culinary settings will enhance performance in this role
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 44 per week
