We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, helping to create delicious meals that delight our guests.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
Handle food items properly to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Qualifications
Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with various cooking methods are advantageous.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
